DLL Hell Problem

The dll(dynmic link library) hell is refers to a set of problems caused when multiple applications attempt to share common components like a dll,these term is actually used to describe a number of problems that can arise when multiple application share a common component.these common components is usually a .dll and a COM component.

One of the three following reason from arise problems :-

1. the cause of DLL hell is when you install a new application that overwrites a shared components with a version that is not compatible with the version that already resides on computers.this is often caused when you install an applicationthat overwrite a system file with an older version. any application that relied on the functionality of the new version will stop working.
2. In these caused occurs when a new version of a shared component is installed that is binary compatible with the previous version,but in updating the functionality, a new bug has been introduced into the component which  could caused any application that depends on the component to misbehave or stop working.
3. In these caused occure when a application uses a features of a common components that actually an undocumented and unexpected behaviour of the component a side effect. when this shared component is updated with a newer version the side effects may well disappeared,breaking any application that depended on it.

Solution of DLL Hell Problems:-

 .Net framework provides operating systems with global assembly cache. this cache is repository for all the .Net components that are shared globally on particular machine,the global assembly cache looks at its version, its public key and its language information and create a strong name for repository and indexes by its strong name,so there is no confusion b/w different version of the same component,or dll.
